Part Time Assistant / 21-25 Hours 

Job Description

We are looking for a friendly, energetic assistant who is motivated to learn and willing to engage with and align to our vision.

The role will involve working across our retail store, accommodation and e-commerce store.

The position is part time approximately 25 hours per week, some weekend work will be required. 

 

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Greet customers and maintain a level of conversation during their store visit.
  • Ascertain customer needs and recommend items that match their needs.
  • Educate customers about our products.
  • Keep up to date with product knowledge.
  • Maintain outstanding store presentation.
  • Receive and unpack stock.
  • Maintain inventory for the e-commerce store.
  • Assist with reordering of stock.
  • Assist with managing customer inquiries and orders.
  • Assist with overseeing the smooth operation of The Store House accommodation.

Skills and Experience

Our ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

Excellent communication skills: Verbal, Non-verbal, Written 

  • An active and responsive listener with a calm, composed demeanour. 
  • Is articulate and able to educate customers about our products.

Is a people person

  • Enjoys helping people.
  • Enjoys interacting and building relationships with customers and staff.

Loves a challenge

  • Has a can-do attitude, willingness to learn and ability to work in an ever-changing environment.
  • Can multi task and prioritise, is able to work with multiple customers at a time whilst maintaining store presentation.  
  • Is creative and a problem solver with initiative.

Exceptional Attention to Detail 

  • Has a sharp eye for maintaining store presentation, attention to detail is essential.
  • Has a passion for interiors and homewares.
  • Has a passion for styling and/or visual merchandising.

This position is casual, hours will vary and it involves weekend work as well as work through the Christmas period.
